Business Secretary Vince Cable is to suggest a graduate tax could be brought in to make England’s student funding system fairer and more sustainable

Here’s the thing Vince, if you earn more then you pay more tax. That’s how tax works. Even in the current stupid system if you earn more you end up paying a great proportion. Grossly unfair but what our envy based system does.
So the proposal that a Graduate Tax is fair because graduates earn more is ignorant and stupid.
If government is serious about reforming the way undergrad learning is paid for then the first order of business should be to remove funding for all mickey mouse and arts based courses. That’ll have two impacts straight away. Firstly it’ll save a shitload of money, secondly those useless farty wankers doing Wanking Studies will actually have to get a job instead of protesting against ‘cuts’.
If we stop the nonsensicall idea that everyone should have a degree then we’ll get lower costs and a móre useful workforce.

Apparently crime is at it’s lowest level since Adam pinched that forbidden fruit.

The number of crimes committed in England and Wales has fallen to its lowest level since records began in 1981, official figures have shown.

Indicating that the recession has not caused an increase in offences, the number of crimes committed fell 9% to 9.6 million in 2009/10.

This is the first time the annual British Crime Survey (BCS) figures have fallen below the 10 million mark.

Officials said there was a “notable” drop in theft, burglary and fraud

‘Progressive’ is a word we’re hearing a lot at the moment.
Longrider says this about ‘progressives’ and I can’t find a word I disagree with.

When someone declares themselves a progressive, my hackles rise. What they mean in reality is that everyone else must be forced to bend to their vision of society, to conform to the socialist utopia they espouse, to be a good little prole. Progressives have no place for independently minded individuals. Progressives are the enemy of individualism, and are, therefore, the very essence of misanthropy. They choose to forget that society is composed of individuals. Progressives are to be despised utterly and completely.

What she means is a town full of hectoring, self-important, muesli muching, beardie, sandal & aran jumper wearing Guardian reading twats. (all incomers by the way)

Interestingly the online editing dude has decreed that the complainants are fine to accuse the owner of racism (no worse crime to a Guardianista) but to accuse the complainants of being muesli munching Guardianista incomers (which they are) is beyond the pale.

Roberts was charged with murder seven months after he disturbed a burglary at the home of his mother Jacqueline McKenzie-Johnson, in the Basford area of Nottingham last March.

After chasing one of the youths aged 14-years-old away from the house he returned to find 17-year-old Juett still inside.

It is alleged there was a struggle in which the teenager was stabbed in the shoulder. He later died of his injuries.

Juett had ample opportunity to do the running away that the lefties tell us that teenage burglars all do but chose not to.

Typically the BBC has a slightly different slant to it’s headline, making it sound like the incident was the result of some kind of disagreement or fight rather than a home invasion situation:

I have decided that when Omari Roberts disturbed two burglars and caused injuries to them – in one case fatally – his actions were not reasonable.

“I have looked very carefully at the public interest in this case, and I am satisfied that it requires a prosecution. I also discussed the case with the CPS principal legal adviser and have decided there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction. The law also makes clear that people could be prosecuted if they act with excessive and gratuitous force.’

That twat needs sacked forthwith. Of course if the CPS were answerable to a locally elected individual then we’d soon see ridiculous cases like this disappear.
